Ontario SPCA’s first annual Toronto Friends for Life Walk-a-thon presented by IAMS is not just any walk in the park -  it’s a fun day for your family and four legged friends. 

The walk will take place along the Martin Goodman trail for 3 kms. You may, walk, run or inline skate!

There will be face painting for the kids, contests for the best howl, loudest bark and the biggest and smallest dog in attendance!

Put your best paw forward and register at www.ospcawalk.ca and help make it Toronto’s largest walk for animals!

The Ontario SPCA’s is a not for profit organization that depends on your support to be able to provide a voice for thousands of animals suffering from, neglect, abuse, and abandonment.

 Additional Notes:

Coronation Park is located near the CNE grounds and very easily accessible by car. Pay parking is available along the side of the driveway that goes through Coronation Park.

All dogs must be on leash at all times. Please remember to clean up after your dog.

The three cockapoo puppies featured on the cover of the current issue of Dogs Dogs Dogs have all found homes.

Lorraine Houston's touching cover feature told the story of the sickly puppies, who began life in an Amish puppy mill before being moved to Toronto Animal Services South Region Shelter.  Today, Dogs Dogs Dogs learned that all three puppies have left the shelter and found loving owners.

Midi, a tiny Morkie featured in the forthcoming April/May issue of Dogs Dogs Dogs, is at the centre of a bitter Twitter diatribe unleashed by the kerfuffle-causing dog's owner, multi-Juno-Award-winning singer-songwriter Jann Arden against VIA Rail.

Both Arden and Midi -- a plucky, champagne-coloured 3-year-old, described by her owner as a picky eater and eager sleeper -- were, according to one of Arden's tweets, "booted off" in Oshawa while en route to Ottawa.

“You guys suck,” she tweeted at VIA following the incident. “A four-pound dog in a bag and you boot me off in the middle of nowhere? Nice…” 

According to a spokesman for VIA, the little scamp should have been flagged at the station by VIA staff, and prevented from riding in the passenger car with Arden.

At the height of her rant, Arden wrote, "Eat my bra via rail."

A spokesman for Morkies was unavailable for comment.

Rules: Send digital photo of your dog (one photo per dog) to info@dogsdogsdogs.ca with the subject line "Photo Contest."

Deadline for entries is April 30, 2012.  A panel of judges will review the entries and select 10 finalists.
Online voting for 10 finalists will begin May 1, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes announced in June/July Issue of Dogs Dogs Dogs.

1st Place                                                                                                                   2-night stay in 1-bedroom waterfront cottage for up to 2 people and up to 2 dogs (courtesy Lake Edge Cottages & DDD). The cottages are fully equipped with kitchen, propane BBQ, 3-piece bath with a great view of the lake.  The dogs are welcome to enjoy our 12.5+ acres, swim in the lake and ride in all the boats.
