Treats & Tweets” will be held on Thursday, February 16th, 2012 at PawsWay (245 Queens Quay West, Toronto) from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The event will celebrate the Social Media Week theme “The Community Within” by bringing together social media enthusiasts and their four legged friends.

The event, sponsored by Purina, Fetchin.ca, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Williams Fresh Cafe, PoopBags and PawsWay, will display various social media installations to keep you engaged and entertained; whether you bring your pet with you or not. At the event we will have professional dog photographer, free training on agility course, advice on excersise programs by Fetching.ca and much, much more. In Vancouver, a little-known bylaw has pet owners facing fines of up to $250.00 for leaving their dogs unattended while dashing into stores.
We've all seen them: forlorn-looking dogs sitting outside a Starbucks or Loblaws, barking at passersby; sometimes lunging at people.  Many of the dog thefts in Toronto over the past few years have been as a result of dogs being left unattended.
Should there be a bylaw to prevent this from happening?
